Keeper for a day
Mucking out, feeding, watering and handling, with the keepers, for two hours, half a day or the whole day. For anyone who has ever wondered what the job is actually like. It is mostly wheelbarrows, and it is brilliant.
Three ways to do it
Half day
£150
11am to 3pm
- Four hours: mucking out, feeding, watering, extra handling sessions and enrichment
- Tailored to the animals you are most interested in
- Talks and a certificate
- Lunch at 1pm: hot food, a snack and a drink
- The rest of the day in the park
Includes park entry for the participant.
Full day
£200
10am to 4pm
- The whole job: mucking out, feeding, watering, handling sessions and husbandry care
- Talks and a certificate
- Lunch at 1pm and a hot meal, snack and drink at 4pm
- The run of the park in between

The details
- Who: adults and children. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult, who pays normal park entry. Family members coming to watch pay normal entry too.
- When: most days of the year, except bank holidays. We will always find you a date within six weeks. Dates are confirmed by phone; we cannot guarantee a day until we have.
- Winter: experiences run in winter without the lunch; you choose a gift from the shop instead. Winter date range to be confirmed
- Bring: old clothes, wellies, a change of clothes and a bottle of water. You will get dirty. That is rather the point.
- Changing your mind: experiences are non-refundable but can be moved to another date with 48 hours notice.
- As a gift: yes. Tick the box on the form and we will send the details to you, not the recipient. Gift voucher format to be confirmed
