Accessibility
We want the farm to work for everyone. This page says what is here now, and is honest about what we are still checking.
Getting around
The park has wide, level pathways throughout, so most of it is straightforward for wheelchair users and pushchairs. The paths are gravel. Gradients, surfaces in each area and access to the Wallaby Walkthrough to be checked and described
- Parking spaces for Blue Badge holders are close to the entrance, and parking is free.
- Accessible toilets are available. Location and whether there is a Changing Places facility nearby to be confirmed
- The play barn's ground floor and Dexters Diner are step-free. The upper play levels are reached by the soft-play frames themselves. To be confirmed
- Wheelchair hire: to be confirmed. Please ring ahead if you would like us to check.
Sensory needs and quiet spots
There are quieter areas away from the play barn where it is easier to take a breather; ask a keeper and they will point you to the nearest one. Weekday mornings outside the school holidays are the calmest time to visit. The meerkat and fox talks are the busiest moments of the day.
Named quiet areas, and whether we can offer quiet sessions, to be confirmed
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the park. Please keep them on the paths and out of the walkthrough enclosures, where the animals are loose.
Tickets for disabled visitors and carers
Visitors with a disability or special educational needs pay the concession price of £12. A carer supporting them also pays the concession price. Tickets are bought at reception on the day.
Please bring one document that shows the named person is eligible, along with photo ID. Which documents we accept (for example a PIP or DLA letter, Blue Badge, Access Card) to be listed here. If you are not sure, ring us before you set off and we will tell you.
Hearing
Whether reception has a hearing loop to be confirmed. Talks are spoken without amplification; stand near the front and the keeper will happily repeat anything.
This website
We are aiming for WCAG 2.2 level AA on this site: proper headings, alt text on images, keyboard-friendly menus, visible focus and enough colour contrast. If something does not work for you, email info@animal-farm.co.uk and tell us what happened. We will fix it.
Tell us what would help
If there is something that would make your visit easier, ring 01278 751628 before you come. We would rather know in advance than have you find a problem at the gate.
