Questions people ask

The things people ring about. If yours is not here, ring or email and we will add it.

Can I bring my dog?

No, sorry. Dogs are not allowed in the park, apart from assistance dogs. It is a working farm with free-roaming birds and nervous rescue animals. Please do not leave a dog in the car.

What does it cost?

Adults and children (2 to 16) are £14 each. Under-2s are free. Concessions are £12. You can pay at the gate by cash or card.

What time do you open and when is last entry?

We open at 10am and close at 5pm. Last entry for everyone, including members, is 4pm. In November, December and January some areas may be closed for maintenance, so please ring first.

Can we bring a picnic?

Yes. There are picnic tables around the farm and hand-wash stations near them. Dexters Diner in the play barn does hot food if you would rather not carry lunch.

What happens if it rains?

The play barn is three storeys and completely under cover, and the talks carry on in most weather; the keepers are used to it. Wellies are a good idea for the paddocks. In genuinely dangerous weather (high winds, ice) we may close early or for the day; we post that on Facebook first.

Is everything included in the ticket?

Admission includes the indoor play barn, the adventure play castle, the trampolines, the crazy golf and every animal talk. There are no rides at the farm; it is a hands-on animal park, not a theme park. Animal feed bags are a small extra, sold at reception.

How much are the feed bags?

Feed bags are sold at reception and in the play barn. We are confirming the current price for this page; it is a small amount, and the goats will tell you it is worth it.

Is parking free?

Yes. Parking is free and on site, with Blue Badge spaces close to the entrance.

Can I take a pushchair round the farm and into the play barn?

Round the farm, yes. The paths are wide, level and gravel, and pushchairs are fine. In the play barn, leave the pushchair by the entrance; the play frames are for feet only.

Do children need socks for the soft play?

Soft play is normally socks-only, so bring a pair for everyone who wants to go in, grown-ups included. If you forget, ask at reception.

Who counts as a concession, and do carers pay?

For visitors with a disability and for carers supporting them. Please bring supporting paperwork and photo ID. Carer tickets are at the concession price. Please show the relevant paperwork and photo ID at reception. If you are unsure whether your document counts, ring us before you set off and we will tell you.

Do you do refunds if the weather turns or we cannot come?

Day tickets bought at the gate are for that day. If we have to close the park because of the weather after you have paid, speak to reception on the day. Memberships and keeper experiences are non-refundable; keeper experiences can be moved with 48 hours notice.

How do I use my membership?

Bring your photo membership card every visit and show it at reception. Last entry is 4pm for members too. If you forget the card you will be asked to pay the day price, which can be refunded on your next visit at the manager's discretion if you bring the receipt.

Can we bring a birthday cake?

Yes, for a booked party you bring the cake and we do the rest. Please let us know about any allergies when you book.

Is there baby changing?

We are confirming exactly where the baby changing is on site and will update this answer. Ask at reception on the day and they will point you to it.

Where can we wash our hands?

There are hand-wash stations around the farm, including near the picnic tables and the small animal sessions. Please use them after touching the animals and before eating, every time. It matters more than the signs make it sound.

Can I smoke or vape in the park?

Not around the animals, the play areas or the picnic tables. Ask at reception where you can.

Do you take photographs of visitors?

Sometimes a member of staff takes photos for our Facebook page and this website. If you would rather you or your children were not photographed, tell reception when you arrive and we will make sure of it. See our privacy policy for the detail.

How long does a visit take?

Most families stay three to five hours. Arrive for 10am, catch the 11am fox feed, lunch, play barn, and the 4 o'clock talks to finish. On a hot day people come for the morning and go to the beach after.
